Bohol means starfish(es) of all sorts, flying lemurs, tarsiers, spinner dolphins, bougainvillea and other flowers in your food (no kidding!!), a never ending shoreline ( well, a whole day low-tide, that is), Chocolate hills, lots of food to buy and eat, a green lake, a bee farm, and lots of great memories.
That’s what you’ll get from this little-big province. Took me an entire weekend to visit most of its go-to places, waking up early ( 530) in the day to get to the dolphins and end the day at 9 or 930 for dinner and off to sleep.
Being a self proclaimed boracay born kid, Bohol’s beaches are a different thing to get compared to the real thing. Just like oranges and apples if you know what I mean. I was able to visit 3 beaches in Bohol, Alona, this one looks like white beach in Puerto Galera, another one ( which I can’t remember) where Bohol Beach club s located looks like Station 1 in Boracay, serene and clean. And the last one was in an island where the spinner dolphins and the fabulous corals are.
Since we are in the topic of Boracay, DO NOT expect a PARTEE in Bohol unless you stay in Alona and alot of people are out, which I would highly doubt. Technically Bohol is for 1. Honeymooners, 2. Groups of old tourists, 3. Children on a fieldtrip. 4. Officemates looking for good clean fun, which is where we qualify for this trip.
So a tip to the partyphiles out there, if you wish to detox and move away from the Boracay "buzz" (note to myself: I miss Bora already) go to Bohol, you’d definitely be relaxed the entire time you are there.
My trip was short but my group made it a point to go through everything Bohol could offer. Few tips to those who want to go there: Have your hotel fix the trip for you, they should be able to provide you with you itinerary and your own car.Enjoy!
